First United Methodist Church has been a long time sponsor of the Boy Scouts of America.

Troop 28 is the oldest and longest continuing chartered Boy Scout troop in Paris, TN. We have been continuously chartered by the First United Methodist Church since 1949.
Our troop of 50 scouts meets each Monday at the Christian Life Center of First United Methodist Church. Our meeting time is 6:30-8:00, check the calendar for exact meeting details.
The vision of Troop 28 is to help young men learn skills, responsibility and leadership, while having fun, so that they can make better choices for the future.

6:00-7:00 Order of the Arrow (OA) for Scouts and adults who are OA members.
7:00-8:00 PLC- Patrol Leaders Council – Includes Senior Patrol Leader, Asst. Senior Patrol Leader(s), all Patrol Leaders or Asst. Patrol Leaders (in their absence), Troop Guide, OA Representative and Scribe, Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmasters
6:30-8:00 Committee Meeting and Board of Reviews, all committee members business from 6:30-7:00 and BOR after

First UMC also hosts Cub Pack 28. Pack 28 was chartered over 50 years ago. The Pack Meeting is held the 3rd Thursday of each month. Pack 28 has 80 active scouts with 8 den meetings for Tigers (1st Grade) through Webelos II (5th Grade). The Cubmaster is Butch Powers.
